Ring-necked parakeet

Despite the forecasted rain - it was a beautiful hot, sunny day here. I decided to get back out in the garden and do some more weeding. The garden has been rather neglected of late - but the right-hand side is now looking good again.

This evening, a saw a couple of parakeets on my bird feeder, so dashed in to get the camera. Caught this one before he flew off again! They are regular visitors to my garden and I have seen quite a flock of them on occasions. Parakeets have been a common sight in the south-east of England and have even been seen further north.
