Ups and Downs

Another day that seems to have whizzed by, but at least I feel like I achieved something at work. Had a lovely catch up with a colleague at lunchtime before she heads off on maternity leave.

Picked up a grumpy BB from school and then had to go into town to do a couple of things. That didn’t please him. After I had done what I needed to do he asked if we could go for something to eat as he was hungry. Thinking that might cure the grumps off we went to the GG – his café of choice.

He continued to be unhappy and I was getting rather fed up with his behaviour, but as we were walking home the story came out along with some tears. He was worrying about a boy at school who had been unkind to him and his friend. On top of that he seemed to be brooding on a backlog of things involving the same boy – none of which seem major - but today must have been the last straw for him. Poor wee thing. We had a chat and I don’t think there is anything to worry about – but will keep an eye on things. Just to complicate things though, the boy is the son of BB’s teacher. He's been much happier after our chat and hopefully has forgotten about things.

Here’s a couple of gooseberries - spot the thorn. We will have to get a net around them very soon, before the blackbirds start helping themselves.
