The Outflow - Taylor Dam

The flood waters in the lake at the Taylor Dam are receding remarkably quickly. I reckon the waters have dropped a good two metres overnight. I climbed up on the dam itself this afternoon and then down the track to where I could get a view of the outflow. The water rushing from the outflow was still dramatic. From where I was standing, and with the camera zoomed in, it looked like a wall of water falling down with a thunderous roar into the river below. The water is clay coloured but in the low winter sunlight it took on a slightly golden sparkle from some angles.
