let there be light

Seeing as I've been laid up with a bad back most of this week, Superdad Taxis offered to pick up the door from the doordipperman this morning. So off we trundled to the village of Rhosllanerchrugog, paid the man his well earned £15 and trundled back home again to find lady sp33d halfway up a ladder wiring in the new ceiling rose pendants she'd bought from Homebase.

As seems to be the norm with older homes the wiring was not exactly 'normal' so the diagram on the back of the box was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, a glass cricket bat or an ejector seat in a helicopter. There were a few unladylike sweary moments but after a quick call to sparkybro everything was hunkey-dorey-jackanory, new light pendents were fitted and the sun decided to beam down outside for the first day this week.

So out we popped like typical Brits to bake in the rare glare, donned in shorts, sunglasses and sandals to sip an ale or two and simply r-e-l-a-x.
