Somewhere Up North

I've come up to the Lake District tonight with Miss K and Mrs M for the Great North Swim tomorrow.
Last year Miss K and I left it late to book and stayed at the very picturesque service station at junction 37 of the M6.
This year we left it even later to book and could only find room at the less picturesque Travelodge at Burton in Kendal services on the M6.
We didn't have high hopes but it's cheap, clean, has enough comfy beds for all three of us, has a kettle and is next to the service station which has a supply of all the tasty burgers, tea and trashy magazines we could possibly want. Fabulous!
Mr K took Miss E to swimming after school and she was moved up to the next class for a trial lesson. Apparently she did really well which is fantastic - it's only been about six weeks since she was moved up before!
I already thought she looked tiny compared to the children in her current class and Mr K said they were all at least eight and nine in her new group. I'm torn between feeling so proud of her doing so well and worried that she won't be able to keep up.
We'll see!
From swimming Mr K took Miss E to Miss T's house for a sleepover. They've been giddy about it, counting down the days.Apparently they stayed up late talking about boys!! Ha ha, flashforward.....
Miss L was a bit sad to be missing her Friday night sleepover with Miss E so she packed a bag full of books, toys and DVD's and had a sleepover with Mr K. They fell asleep watching Dumbo apparently. Rock and Roll Friday night!!
