Billeted, Blown

My recent other Poppy Blip has won me CALUMET PHOTO OF THE WEEK!!

Read about it here!

Perhaps better than winning a Blip Staff Pick as there are five of those and only one Calumet winner!

And yes, I had won it BEFORE with If You Go Down to the Woods

And yes, just to remind, I did get a Staff Pick once before - not that I'm rubbing it in - at all!

This lone poppy, plucky in a vast sea of ripening rapeseed (the luminous yellow flower now gone, the seed pods here, will be harvested later in the year.)

Billeted, on its own
Billowed, blown
about
brisk winds breeze through
misshaping...

Tissue-paper thin
delicate
standing its ground
Buffeted.

Last day of bus ticket: Ten or so mile walk along parts of the Monarch Way, across south Wiltshire today, from High Post to Stapleford, crossing two main A roads - A345 and A360. Lovely, even incredible views, especially towards Salisbury Cathedral and over the Woodford Valley.

But dull, so dull always and chilly wind that nagged and bleated all day long...
