Trustees

Not the best photo, but the best people. These are the Trustees of the local homeless charity, CHESS (Churches Homeless Emergency Shelter Scheme), who meet monthly to make sure things go well with the support and services provided for the homeless. The charity runs a night shelter, a number of move on homes, employ support staff, use the willing services of an army of volunteers, run a winter scheme and also provide food, clothing and support for the many homeless who they are not able to house. The increase in homelessness over the past year is alarming.

There's a helpful halo around Rob's head. He's the Executive Director of the charity and he and his wife have recently adopted three boys.

The charity has incredibly positive outcomes; over the past 12 months CHESS staff & volunteers have been able to;

● Move 52 individuals on in their lives from sleeping rough to securing accommodation (29 of these 52 individuals moved into their own accommodation)
● Provide 1642 hot meals to rough sleepers & 3521 hot drinks to rough sleepers
● Provide bedding 116 times for rough sleepers
● Provide 803 individual consultations with clients
● Provide additional accommodation to 43 individuals on our ‘Winter Project’

It's a privilege to work with these folks in testing circumstances.
