10 Little Ducks Went Swimming One Day

There are only 9 in this photo because the 10th is lagging behind, so much so that I didn't know of it's existence until I heard 'Squeak, squeak'. It's little legs were frantically paddling in the water to try to catch up. He looked much smaller than the rest and now I dread going back down to the river just in case I only see 9!

My evening walk was full of wildlife tonight. I saw a kingfisher and managed to capture it on camera. It wasn't good enough to blip, as all you can see is a flash of turquoise and bright orange but I'm pleased to have seen it. There were partridges, a red kite, dragonflies, damselflies and a pair of birds that I need to identify with my bird book.

We had some good news today......Mr E's leave has finally been approved. Now we can go ahead and book our Highland holiday for the end of the year. It's taken about a month to sort out, which is a bit annoying, as it's not as if it's short notice or even a busy time of the year. Roll on retirement.

I spent another day pruning back the shrubs and although you can see where I've done, there is still masses left to do. I will have to put it on hold, as I've got another watercolour to do for the first week of July.
