91 days to go

I was due to make the keynote address at the Social Work Scotland Conference in Crieff this morning. Between the ADSW Presidential Address and mine the organisers had scheduled a performance by " The Street" , a social action theatre company and social enterprise from South Lanarkshire whose brutally honest portrayal of real dilemmas, recreated by young people , has been of huge and growing influence across Scotland.

They were fantastic and their emotional message was massively powerful. It was a very hard act to follow.

Later in the day I was involved in meetings about school closures, data provision to parents , innovation funding for HE and mobile phone coverage in my own constituency. All important but none as rawly honest as those speaking from the heart in " The Street". Their message has stayed with me throughout the day.
