A Dose of Crabs

Well, more precisely, crab spiders.

As my weed clearance progresses, I continue with my garden safari.

I first discovered the yellow spider in the yellow poppy. Having done so, I checked other flowers and found three smaller crab spiders (all white) on some sweet william. Their hunting strategy seems to be very successful as three of the four caught a fly as the day progressed.

They are probably all female Misumena vatia. Only mature adult females are able to change colour to blend in with the flower (as the yelow one has.).
