Through A Glass Darkly

I took a mirror down the field with me this morning for a project on another site. Our French master at school insisted that we use the term looking-glass or glass. Non-U and all that. :)

While I was looking for suitable subjects a drone fly took an interest in me and I got quite a few shots. Just as well I wasn't naked. They can lay eggs on your bottom and rat-tailed maggots hatch and enter your anus leaving their breathing tube dangling outside!

Lots of butterflies about. I think this is a large skipper. It looks 'dirtier' than the small skipper and isn't as skippy. It's not an Essex skipper as it doesn't have black undersides to its antennae. Quite like its indistinct reflection shining darkly in the glass. :)
