Caturday Night Block Party!

We had some very exciting developments in the past few days. Two separate shipments of Crittergator-type creatures arrived in the mail! One set of small critters arrived in an envelope from New York. The next day, a set of four somewhat larger creatures (the ones in the back row) arrived in a box all the way from California.

There was much excitement as we opened both packages. The Crittergators were just about beside themselves! We heard sounds inside, and then the creatures emerged. Welcome, new friends! (There was even a small box for the Tabby to play with, and he was almost able to fit inside it.)

There was a bit of a tiny tragedy. The one creature - the brown fellow in the middle row, far left - arrived in pieces. We never despair, though, for many things that are broken in life can be fixed if one approaches the task with a steady hand and a loving heart. Don't we all carry our scars? Some are visible, some are not; we wouldn't be who we are without them. In fact, our scars bear witness: they tell tales of the challenges we were strong enough to overcome.

We called in a team of expert surgeons and things were quickly patched up. The patient was placed in the Head Splort Recovery Ward (you can read a bit more about that special place here, for alas this is not the first accident of this type we have seen) under some soft blankies and kept quiet for the night. In the morning, the brave creature was good as new and ready for its next adventure!

On Saturday night (or Caturday, as we who have cats like to call it), we threw a huge block party to celebrate the new arrivals. And everyone got together for a meet and greet. Much hilarity ensued, new friends were made, and a good time was had by all. And so the song to accompany this happy scene is a celebration song: the Bay City Rollers, with Saturday Night.

P.S. A special shout-out and words of thanks to the two kind and generous ladies who sent us these new friends. :-) You know who you are. Thank you so much!
