A Life of Laughter

Row, Row, Row Your Boat!

Today started off with a full english breakfast cooked for us by the manager of the guest house so it was always going to be a good day!

We headed out for a walk around the river after we'd put our bags back into the car. There's a BMX pump track beside the riverside, so Rory and I are planning a trip back to that with the bikes at some point later in the week! We had another wander around the shops to try to scope out some presents to take back home. It's sad how much I love walking shops, I don't even know why I do.

Rory rented us a rowing boat which we took out onto Derwent Water after we'd stuffed ourselves with fish and chips (which were yummy but absolutely massive). The rowing boat was incredibly fun, probably cause Rory was doing the majority of the rowing but I gave it a fair go! Rory spent the majority of the time laughing at my (pathetic) attempt to row us across the lake!

Rory wanted to go to Ashness Bridge after being told by his grandparents and his dad about it, so we walked around the water's edge to the bridge. The walk was beautiful; the views were amazing! There was a weird rock that was cut in half and looked like a brain on the inside which I thought was cool! Ashness bridge is incredibly scenic and rather peaceful. There was a lady sketching the bridge as her husband sat reading the newspaper completely oblivious to everything happening around him!

We cheated and got the launch boat back to Keswick rather than walking the path back along, however, we've agreed to come back biking to Keswick so hopefully we can cycle around the lake then. I think it will be a beautiful cycle! We headed back to the car and then to our caravan park that we're staying at for the rest of the week. The caravan is amazing! It's a luxury caravan; it's huge and we have two bathrooms (not bragging!)

The rest of the evening was spent shopping for food, cooking dinner and watching Happy Gilmore whilst snuggling on the sofa with a couple of drinks. Perfection.
