Topiary

Topiary. Had a relaxing morning reading and enjoying the glorious sunshine around the hotel. I only wish that I could Blip more than one photo for today as I took so many worthy ones.

We pottered around in Stratford, which we know well as my husband did most of his growing up five miles from where we were staying. We booked tickets to the RSC and were enthralled by an interactive exhibition on RSC props. Very touchy feely.

We went to the RSC Swan Theatre to watch Arden of Faversham an Elizabethan comedy possibly written by Shakespeare or Marlow or someone or combination of them.

It was totally brilliant and we loved it. It was in the round and the actors were only about ten foot from us. It was a hilarious farce about a true story of a lady attempting to have her odious husband murdered. Doesn't sound funny, but it was. Very slap stick and well choreographed and ingeniously staged. Lots of blood all over the stage.

We are going to come down and watch something else soon.

A really brilliant day.
