A new view for me of a familiar spire - one of the three that make St Mary's Cathedral Edinburgh such a landmark. Actually I had to retrace a few steps to see the other spires and be sure of what I was seeing from this magical stretch of the Eater of Leith walkway.

We walked miles today, and all but the last couple of miles were off-road as we followed first the old railway line track from Newhaven to Canonmills, then joined the walkway beside the river as far as the Dean Gallery. I could have blipped any one of a dozen photos from today - the rest will appear, eventually, on Flickr.

And tonight's dinner involves a further couple of miles' walking ...
