Hill House Garden

Today I visited Hill House in Helensburgh with a friend. I had not been there for years and it was lovely to wander through the house and immerse myself in a structure and domestic interior designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh - the Glasgow architect whose unique style was only recognised as world-class long after his death.

No photography allowed in the House, but no worries - the garden was beautiful with lots of pink and blue summer blooms. Mackintosh took as much care in the design of the garden as he did with the interior details. I decided on this composite to encapsulate the garden's beauty while giving a glimpse of the white walls, chimneys and turrets that characterise the house design.
