Barbecue Ready

This is the garden shortly before the staff from Mrs Mikey's school came round. There were 26 people altogether and I spend the day shopping and making vegetable and prawn kebabs and getting a last minute bit of tidying up done.

It went really well. People brought salads and sweets and I did the cooking. There were a few cracks of thunder early in the evening, but fortunately no rain to go with them and as the evening cooled, it was a very pleasant place to sit and have a chat and a chill.

Clearing up wasn't too bad - the dishwasher took a bit of hammer. I was always relcutant to get one in the early years of our marriage, but since getting one, I am converted to the opinion that they are the greatest boon of the modern world.
