A taste of the Caribbean!

Another hot day but apart from a little painting to finish off the stool before the sun became too strong, I stayed inside in the cool helping Grace finish off some sewing.

We were waiting for Chris to arrive with more plants for the garden including two Hydrangeas from Grace and John's wedding last year and when he arrived we let him get on with some planting.

Early evening we strolled down the road stopping for a drink. Lots of people about enjoying the evening sun. Our destination was ' The Plantation' in Gloucester Road. I have said before what an eclectic place this is with all types of food but Chris and I haven't eaten Afro Caribbean here before.

We selected to eat at the buffet which included the expected Jerk chicken, Goat curry, rice and peas (Moros et Christianos if you are in Cuba), Ackee and mushrooms and a couple of other vegetarian dishes with spinach and chickpeas plus salad!

Grace and I finished with coconut ice cream as well as a couple of cocktails which probably explained why we were up dancing to this excellent Reggae band at the end of the evening. They were excellent. Sadly we had to leave as Chris who had earlier driven for 5 hours and then done all the gardening in the hot sun was feeling a little
weary.

We all had a good time though and with the heat of the evening and the music we really could have been in the Caribbean. I'm sure we will be back!
