Partick - unlucky for some.

Today's composite captures the continuing spirit of goodwill that accompanies the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. On the left side there is 'Clyde' (a horticultural version of the Games mascot in front of the Art Gallery and Museum); below are the big pointy gloves worn by the volunteer helpers, directing people to the free events in Kelvingrove Park; picture 3 is a shopkeeper (I reckon) sweeping up glass from a broken vase that must have slipped from the shopper's grasp and shattered on the road at Partick Cross. She looks on disconsolately. Not her day as she stands with the remnants of the vase and flowers at her feet! I like the juxtaposition of the hockey player in action with the chap with the brush. This fantastic Games mural on a tenement gable-end cannot be missed as you emerge from Partick Station into the open square.
