Sun Setting over camp

The third day at camp brought even cooler weather, and some gloomy looking skies that finally broke really late in the day for about an hour or so before the clouds rolled in and the rain started in the evening. It's okay though......we made the best of it. The day started off with some sleeping in....and breakfast. The girls of camp entertained themselves for quite some time swinging like crazy. Look at that face! Such joy!

The dogs, including.....well actually MOSTLY, Ivy, insisted on MUCH fetching of the tennis ball in the field.....and eventually in the river. I was the crazy adult who consented to brave the cold breeze and gloomy skies down by the river so the girls could swim. I sat and read my book while Such fun!

Soon we were back up at camp for some nice warm dinner, and a quick "cover all the tents in tarps" activity directly before it started raining. This is the first year in as long as I can remember that we've had rain during our camp trip. Darn it.

I took a walk to capture a rainbow, and some wild carrot in the setting sun. The girls spent most of the evening off playing in their original fort. It is just a tree that broke and tipped over years ago that made a wonderful cave like structure that is supported extremely well. They love to play under it, and it kept them dry.
