Devizes

I came across this swan family as I was walking along the Kennet and Avon from London Road towards Devizes Wharf. As there were four cygnets, this may be the family from the Caen Hill flight of locks. They were away on a jaunt the last time I tried to see them, so as the flight is close by, this could have been a similar excursion.

On the other hand, they could be another family entirely, perhaps based nearer the Wharf, as there have been nests there in other years. Anyhow, good to see them gliding along the canal and breaking rank from time to time to feed on weeds by the bank.
