Commonwealth Games Men's Cycle Race

The 10 lap cycle race through the city today took place in torrential rain. So incredibly wet! I have captured the front bunch coming along Argyle Street about half way through. Fifth on the left is Welshman Geraint Thomas who went on to win the Gold Medal despite a late puncture. What stamina these guys have.

But I thought the people who turned out in such conditions were heroic too. Included here is a family with an infant in a 'Bundle Bean' strapped to its mother. I like the blue bonnet over the little chap's eyes! See no evil! Also the pair in the Scotland flag capes look so cheery! Ah well, it never rains, but it pours - in Glasgow. Might as well make the best of it! My camera seems to have survived a soaking.
