The Edge of the Wold

Calm

A serene end to a beautiful Summer day. The tame black-headed gull hopping between the rocks was very helpful.

I spent too much of today in a head-scratching meeting, and what with the after effects of the man flu, I actually did nod off at one point. Did anyone notice? If so, they were too polite to say anything. Or maybe it's thought normal for someone of my age?

Anyway, it was good to have a stroll with Gus and Wifie along the estuary this evening - the perfect antidote to a busy day. We met Stephen and his collie Pie again, she wants to play with Gus but he's playing hard to get. But there is more than a flicker of interest.

At home, the carpet man came to lay the carpet in the spare bedroom. Then he discovered the doors need to come off, and he had no screwdriver. Wifie asked Bern to come and help, but he couldn't shift the painted in screws in the little time he had, so in the end the carpet man left, the carpet still rolled up. A task for tomorrow evening is to free up the screws. Will we get everything done before my cousin arrives Wednesday? It's touch and go.
