Taff Trail Trek

The weather is supposedly not going to be very good tomorrow, so as it was the wife's first day off, it was a case of making the best of the last of the sunshine.

We cycled along the Taff Trail with the intention of going on to Cardiff Bay. On stopping off in Cardiff City Centre for the wife to have a look for some swimming costumes (she has trouble with getting her size) we spent an age looking. Eventually she ended up with just a beach bag that was reduced in Debenhams.

After enjoying a tea and coffee in Cardiff Castle, I dragged her up to the top of the Keep. The blip photo is from the keep, down St Mary Street, towards Cardiff Bay where the Pier Head clock tower can be seen. In the Bristol Channel is Steep Holme Island.

In Bute Park the workmen were busy putting out the 'ring of steel' for the Nato summit due the beginning of September. They've also started on the M4 near The Coldra. From my knowledge of how these things work, it's going to be lots of delays for the time it's in progress. They've even stopped members of the Celtic Manor leisure facility from using it for three weeks! My advice is to keep away from Cardiff City Centre and Newport/M4 for the period it's on!
