Learning day by day

This morning, and most of the night, it lashed it down. It rained in biblical proportions until about 11am when Carys finally decided to stop reading and come downstairs for breakfast! William and I meanwhile had had breakfast, coloured in a lot and found the morning session of the European Athletics Championships on French TV and were mostly happily watching that. William asked a lot of questions and seemed to think I understood the French commentary because I could answer him (nothing to do with over 30 years of taking part and watching athletics then)!

After lunch, as it dried out, we walked into town and had a look around. Obviously it was mostly shut as it was still siesta time but it got us out of the house. Back home the kids played in the pool for an hour and the sun finally put in an appearance.

BBQ for tea and then the rain came again. Boo! So we are sat inside with our wine, hoping that the weather improves, although the kids are quite taken with the idea of swimming in an outdoor pool in the rain, which at some point if it continues like this I think they will be doing.
