A view from Jeanneb

Great goose.

At the end of our morning walk we fed the ducks as usual at Coppice Pond. They are really keen this early in the morning as they haven't been fed for a while and we had the whole of the waterfowl community there including last week's mother and father Canada geese with their 4 young and a late brood of ducklings.

As we were about to leave the Greylag appeared. I haven't seen it for quite while and had heard from others that it has become quite aggressive. It certainly wanted to get in on the act for the food but I feel rather sorry for it as it seems to be isolated from the others.

Last year it was seen wandering in the village and was 'rescued' and brought here to the pond but there are no other Greylags. There are some down on the canal so maybe that was where it should have been taken.

As you can tell I have a soft spot for it.
Anyone know how to move a large goose?
