Red Breast Isn't Best For Babies

Bit of a miserable day with poor light but I wanted to tog a bird and hadn't got much time to do so.

I soon spotted this juvenile robin. It is starting to develop its red breast feathers. It's probably a few months old. Robins are fiercely territorial birds and it is thought that young robins don't have red breasts to prevent their parents and other adults from attacking them.

The carefree days are over for this little one. :(
