In Pink

What is it about girls and pink?

True to form then this parasitic wasp, Gasteruption Jaculator, flew into the garden this afternoon to hit the pink shrubs. The white tip identifies it as a female. She will lay or already has laid her eggs in the nests on the larvae of solitary bees and wasps with her long ovipositor so her young can devour the grubs, pollen and nectar stores of the host. I was quite impressed by the size of the tail bit!!

Fascinating to see but not pretty in pink.
