A Cholmondeley day

First on the list today was the Dorothy Clive Garden, in north Staffordshire. I knew a previous Head Gardener some years ago - he always introduced himself as Dorothy Clive, from the George Lovatt Garden!

Garden number two was at Cholmondeley Castle, near Malpas in Cheshire, which opens to the public only in a limited way. Quite a magnificent garden and one that could have warranted more time - it's always hard to judge. I haven't shown the group before, so here they are being addressed by two of the garden staff.

Mount Pleasant Garden, nearby, finished off the day. I thought it was wonderful - a complete jumble of fabulous plants and wonderful sculpture, but some of the group declared it 'messy'!
