Champagne Super Rovers

Hi Tom,

Today we did the London River Rat Race, which was for a great cause...Shelter. This is my team. We called ourselves The Champagne Super Rovers ....something to do with Oasis ;)

From left to right Sidney, me, Louie, Rusty, Curtis and Alex.

It was a 10k course with lots of obstacles in and out of the water. The boys did really well. Us girls did really well too. I came in behind the boys and Sidney brought up the rear. She got caught up in a queue for the water tyres and to be fair hasn't done as much training as she would have liked.

We started off in the Excel Centre. First we hurdled, then climbed, then ran, then ran through water, then climbed higher obstacles, then ran more, then went under obstacles in the water, then ran more, then climbed stairs, ran more, down stairs, ran more, over and under obstacles, more running, then a swim, then pulling yourself over tyres in the river, then jumping on things in the water, more running, kayaking, high jump into the river, a big slide into the river, more running, more up and overs, more running, more swimming, more running, then into the Excel Centre a little more running, over two high fences and finish...phew.

We earned our medals for sure.

Had the most amazing support....dad, Sidney's partner James and Louise. They cheered us around the course and took great photos.

We all went for dinner after which was lovely.

Then a little holiday shopping, home, soak in the bath, a nice dinner being cooked and a great film to watch.

I have had a great day with some great people.....hope you have too. X
