Formation riding - Castle Classic

This afternoon there was a cycle race held on the streets of Leicester, so I headed down there for another cycling fix. It seemed to be quite a good circuit with long straights along side of the river followed by a tight and twisty section through the old castle which included some cobbles!

Just as the race was about to start the heavens opened and it threw it down for a bout 5 minutes making the cobbles very slick just as the riders arrived. It was a 50 mile race which took about 2 hours to complete, and it all came down to a 4 rider sprint to the finish. It was quite exciting and great to watch.

Here is a picture of two of the competitors rounding a church in the Castle grounds at the end of the cobble section. I quite like their formation and the low angle that I took this picture from.
