Hyderabad Kite fest

Being in Hyderabad for over 20 or more years, it is quite a transformation to observe, on how the city has changed. Hyderabad used to be a really quiet place, slow paced and lazy before the year 2000. Nothing much really happened, traffic and population were in control, it was not as cosmopolitan and was a place were nothing much happened after the curfews in the early 1990's.

Today, it is a notable transformation to the small city, to a fast paced, polluted, 'Hitec' city, with some of the largest malls, events, pubs and lots of youth driven hobby groups etc. it is a most dramatic change to observe. Today the fact that there is an active photography club, bicycling club and Kite festivals, over the small time Sankranti celebration during this time of the year, speaks volumes about how unimaginable this change must be to the locals; and all this over the last 10 years only!

We took this opportunity to go to the Kite festival this year, as I had to see this transformation. It was a very interesting experience for someone like me who has been here for years and seen the city change.

Also, i have been a lazy blipper and later got extremely busy. Now that I am on vacation, I've taken the time to back blip... Here's today's blip though.
