Bee amidst the heather

Sunday
A pretty standard Sunday, with church in the morning, then a walk in the Forest after lunch. The last time we went for a walk in the Forest, when Jen and Jason were with us, we got fairly soaked, but today, whilst not exactly sunny, it was pleasantly warm and remained dry! There was quite a lot of heather around, but much of it seemed to be past it's best, nothing like the picture we enjoyed in Derbyshire last Monday. The bees were quite busy buzzing around amidst the heather, but they weren't very easy to capture - I'd no sooner get focused on one of them, and it would fly off! As we were nearing the end of our walk, one lady walking by herself stopped us to ask if we could direct her to a particular junction of paths - she could see we had a map. There is a multitude of paths and tracks in the Forest, and whilst many of the paths are marked with flashes of different colored paint, and the wider tracks have names, it can still be a confusing place to walk, and we are surprised at the number of people who go walking without a map - after all, one tree looks much like another! She said her car was parked in Fontainebleau, a fair way away, and it was late afternoon by this point, so I hope she found her way back to her car!
