Look Out

The City's edge

There is a lot going on here.

In the foreground, a short section of the Manchester - Bolton - Bury Canal which has been reclaimed, but leads nowhere. It sits within the Middlewood site, which the Scarborough group are going to develop.

Behind, railway viaducts which currently connect the Liverpool - Manchester Victoria line, and from which the Ordsall Chord is planned to be built connecting Victoria and Piccadily for the first time, freeing up the rail network at the heart of Manchester to help sort out the north's network problems.

And beyond, the edge of Spinningfields, with just a glimpse of the top of Manchester Town Hall. Salford is very close to the centre of Manchester.
