Life, not as we see it.

Still a way to go. 6.5 hours by express!

Day 5. To Izmir and beyond.
Comfy bed in a pleasant hotel - but smoky room on Non Smoking floor, but that's Turkey - an unhealthy disregard for rules.
Problem 2: Mozzy Peskii. Bitten all over I was, till we got up at 04:00 to avoid further mayhem. SHMBO proved her worth, if such worth ever needed proving, by flattening the wee bugger. Strange seeing your own blood oozing from a fatally squashed insect. Intreaguing how the capillary action of the sheet's fibres slows as the blood coagulates.
You may have sussed that there was not a lot to report on the train journey from Bandirma to Izmir. Scenery flashed by in only 6 1/2 hours. And when we arrived at Izmir the heavens opened. This had the effect of persuading our hire car provider to stay in his office until I phoned to stir him onward. The car arrived, an hour late, and it was a stinker, literally. Bloody smokers!
Having had no breakfast, unless you count a handful of pistasios, we had a wee bite once we had taken possession of the car, then sallied on down to Selcuk. A most peculiar town. Sat nav took us almost to our hotel, but not quite, so we walked a bit and hence provided some of the locals, mainly the yokel variety, with a rare glimpse of northern europeans. We were on the wrong side of town! ! !
Settled in, explored the western, better, half and discovered lots of stuff to like. Booked a guided trip to Ephesus and other attractions for ramorra.
Settled nicely into the G&Ts now but will have to desist to go for "lunch", now that its dark.
Have a drivel free evening my friends. (Wanna buy a carpet?)
