A Happy Valentine's Day!

What a lovely day we had! Phil made his usual Sunday breakfast of eggs and bacon. We almost made it to church on time. We stopped at his parent's house to give them Valentine's Day cards. Changed the light bulb in their garage.

We took a hike at the place I found last week. We hiked about a mile. Encountered a four foot garter snake laying across the path! We had to bravely scoot past it. Ate a picnic lunch at the park. (We tried to eat at the picnic bench that was in the middle of the trails. After setting up the tablecloth and handing out the food, I notices a beehive 20 feet away from us! We moved.)

The kids put on their bathing suits and shot each other with water guns.
We watched the Daytona 500 (Phil's ideal Sunday afternoon activity) and I got a nap (my ideal afternoon activity!).

We had our traditional Bistro meal for Valentine's Day. Phil grilled filet minion and I made baked potatoes & zucchini & asparagus & salads. Delicious! We got out the pink cloth table cloth, lit lots of candles, mood music - very romantic... except for the kids! Last year they pretended to be our waiters, with towels draped on their arms.

After dinner, Phil lit a fire in our fireplace !! We've never used it the 6 years we've been here. And the people before us hadn't used it - 18 years total! I had the chimney guy come and check it all out on Wednesday. He did a few repairs and we were all set!! Just in time for Valentine's Day!

We had a wonderful evening eating our Sunday Sundaes and watching the fire! here

(Now it's midnight and the silly log still hasn't burned out! I wanna go to bed!)
