Snapshots of rural France

Animal shed

We had a late night last night looking for that sunset which didn't quite perform as hoped and then returned home to watch a film that started on film4+1 at 11pm our time. It was a really nice evening, but we finally got to bed at around 1:30am which is bad for a school night, so I wasn't really ready to get up when the alarm went off at 8!

Today was changeover day in the gîte and the previous people had been kind enough to strip the bed and wash the towels, and left the place very tidy so it was a nice quick turnaround. The new people seem very nice and are here for a week, they spent last week in the Dordogne

The picture is of an animal shed in the farm next door (a limousin cattle farm) and the date on the lintel above the front door says 1914 so it is 100 years old. I wonder if it will last another 100...

Thank you again for your wonderful comments and stars, yesterday's photo of the Charente reached the spotlight too!

Hope you're having a good weekend!
