Barson Street Stairs

This is a middle-school art project engineered by an exceptional local art teacher and conceptual artist, Kathleen Crocetti, who is also responsible for student mosaics on two bridges and various public walls in town. It's a wonder to me how she is able to inspire and motivate 6th and 7th graders to turn out such amazing work. The staircase is a little out-of-the-way, so though I've known about it for awhile, I only just got over there to see it today. Next, I have to figure out when to go back to eliminate the zigzag shadows!

This project calls to mind one of San Francisco's gems, the 16th Avenue Tiled Steps Project. It is a magnificent sight and part of a great walk.
