Porty People and Places

Our polling station is at this church hall in the centre of my blip.

This blip was taken as the sun rose on Portobello Beach at 0649 - not that we saw it as the haar is in and looks like it will be here all day - much brighter in the west!

The purposeful pulse of early voters scurrying to vote is something I have never seen in England. I was often the first and only voter in the first hour of the poll opening such was the apathy that has overtaken political engagement south of the border.

That apathy here is purged for ever by this Referendum and that sense of engagement is to be applauded.

The tide was coming in - and one of my flags keeled over - shortly after this blip was taken. It was witnessed by a fellow blipper - we both interpreted that omen in different ways!

Today we are all travelling hopefully. Tomorrow we will have to travel together along the road that the Scottish Nation has chosen. We must all respect that decision and re-unite for Scotland now that this democratic process has been concluded.
