Reflective and Shattered

I found out a couple of days ago that the garden centre we visit on a regular basis was putting on a horticultural show like the local village one last week which included a photography class. I don't normally enter photographic competitions other than the village show but was tempted by the prizes of garden centre vouchers as we do spend quite a lot at this particular place. So I rapidly sorted, printed and mounted some photos for the half dozen photo classes and took them down yesterday, as they accepted early entries. We went down this afternoon after the judging with hopeful anticipation of a voucher or two only to find my photos were not on display :-(((( When I eventually found the girl that was organising the event and queried this, she went off to hunt around. She eventually returned clutching the bag I had taken them down in and said that they had dropped down behind something and been missed - I was gutted :-((( They did offer me a profuse apology and a £5 voucher, so I couldn't be angry with them and it wouldn't change anything even if I was but I now feel like I've had the wind taken out of my sails as there wasn't all that many entries and I could possibly have come away with far more vouchers. Hubby was very supportive and bought me a cake as comfort food but it still feels like a total waste of time and effort, I am deflated - I will think twice before considering entering any more competitions :-/

UPDATE:- Will this awful day ever end? I'm now sitting in A&E waiting for hubby to be treated after cutting a chunk off the top of his finger while gardening, the queue is huge :-(((((((((((

FURTHER UPDATE :- finally home and in bed at nearly midnight. Have to be up at 5am as hubby has to be at Lister Hospital in Stevenage for 7.30am and its a looooong way from here. It seems he has lost the very end of his finger and needs more specialist treatment :-((( I'm not great in the morning at the best of times and to be up at that time will be a real challenge. Depending on what happens I may not get a chance to blip tomorrow, have to see how it goes.
