Tell Me a Story

One of my rules for photographing stuff left on the beach is: You Can't Move It. So I had to get down pretty low here to find the perspective I was looking for. It used to be a lot easier to get back up in these situations.

These shoes are very powerful objects. They just reeled me in. Dusty pink, a little worn, and abandoned at the water line. Look how carefully the bows are tied. What really got me was that they are reversed--the left shoe is on the right, and vice versa. I almost brought them home to arrange in other compositions, but I really like them best this way.
