New Carpet

For those who are interested in such things, and I know of one for sure, here is the new carpet in our lounge, before all the other clutter gets put back.

It took Kevin and his helpers five hours to strip out the old one and lay this. Len, Basil and I were banished to bedroom or kitchen, joining all the furniture and stuff that was temporarily stored there. I escaped by going to choir in Leicester.

The old carpet, an Axminster, had been on the floor when we moved here in 1978, and was still thick where it hadn't been walked on, but was threadbare where it had.

It's like walking on a cushion now.
