View upon the River

Together with my new walking companion Dee, we started our morning exercise with a symbolic act. Candle lighting at the foot of the Guardian Oak: Dee striking the match while I was holding the candle, asking our Guardian for sharing his Vitality&Strength&Uprightness with us as Dwarfy Dwellers. After this ritual we took off for a new round to the Western riverside. Dee is a fast walker and I have to ask for attention for shifting your centre of gravity down to the Hara-pelvis region. And on breathing slowly out and in from there.

No more goal-oriented speed-walking to show that you are striving to reach the finish first. We have to accept the complete uselessness of this striving, “sick”&”old” skeletons-to-be as we both are. And we should exercise to walk without our controlling ego out from our Heads. Adieu Descartes with his Thinking Ego! And Vive Pascal with his “Reasons of the Heart”. And so on this new basics we went along the Western Riverside under a cloudy sky.

A second topic of interest was exploring questions on how to become a “Selfhealer”. There are responsible possibilities to undertake and start a new existence no longer primarily based on scientific medicine and its practitioners alone. But by exploring own initiatives in searching for therapies of your own choice, relevant selfhelp-groups, counselling etc. The latter approach being based on learning from own suffering, own experience.

Sharing your learnings with others and exchanging what precepts would suit best to your own unique needs. No longer situating yourself as a dependent patient and forced consumer of dehumanizing mass institutions. This might open up new vistas, orientations on how we become stuck in a stagnating process called uncurable illness, without letting ourselves the room for healing resilience to unfold.

We walked for almost an hour and at last I nearly stumbled on the steep staircase, while wiping some sweat from my forehead. “Focussing”...I said. Well, it just was a simple walking round..pff.
But we enjoyed it both and will continue this good initiative. In the afternoon I too had the opportunity to slow a bit down. Willemien is taking well her resting&recovery day. So in different respects we can feel that change is underway. As we hear and see from Mischa who is making daily progress in exploring her reborn drawing and sketching creativity. All kinds of strange&jolly animals come to greet us over the internet.

Exactly the bric-a-brac exploration in creativity which is killed off in most education systems and certainly pushed away and oppressed by busy agenda’s of most professional workers who keep seeing themselves forced to stressing work to continue earning a decent living. All dilemmas not easily solved. But who said that any solution would be practically possible. Instead of an ongoing pain in striving towards and learning to become human, to grow and deepen yourself in an everchanging life-process, like a streaming river. Never the same. Never the same view.
