A time for everything

Heron

Thursday
Back again after several weeks absence from Blip. We were gone for four days in Venice, then a few days after returning, we had my brother and sister-in-law come for a visit. So I do have a number of backblips to post, but In between there were various days that I just didn't take any pictures. I always have good intentions at being more regular with my posting, but I seem to be very erratic these days!
Yesterday I was laid low with a bad cold, but today, especially by the afternoon, I was feeling sufficiently improved to get out for a walk by the lake in Samoreau. I caught a glimpse of kingfishers again, but not still enough or close enough to photograph, but this heron was obliging and stayed still for a while, as I crept a bit closer.
Roger was home this afternoon, having had some dental surgery this morning. About a month or so ago, one of his fillings came loose and came out. When he went to see the dentist, she said the reason he'd lost the filling was that the tooth was broken - split down the middle - she was surprised he'd not had more trouble with it. She extracted it the same day and referred him to a specialist who would insert an implant, but he had to wait for a while for the gum to heal and stabilize after the extraction. Understandably, he wasn't looking forward to it, but was actually quite impressed - it was quite quick and he felt the guy was very good, and so far the pain medication is working well!
