The Festive Pumpkin: Behind the Scenes

Now, did you ever wonder what it takes to create a Dancing Girls photo shoot? You might think it's very simple, but a lot of work goes into it that you might not expect. So let's go behind the scenes for a moment, and visit one of the Dancing Girls photo shoots (this one we are prepping for is called The Festive Pumpkin), in progress.

First off, safety is job one. We take great care to position our models in such a way that they do not harm themselves or each other. In this particular case, we needed to get a hook and ladder company to come out and help us position the Dancing Girls, lest one of them take a tumble.

As you can see, the job foreman (the little dude in the red shirt in that cherry picker) is taking his duties very seriously. Those Dancing Girls have nothing to fear with him here, watching out for them. Safety fairly shines out of his eyes. Just having him on the set makes everyone feel more comfortable and secure. No worries, mate! He's on the job!

What? You never guessed that my models sometimes play other roles as well? Well, they do. Everything from helping to manage safety, to providing creative input, to helping out with lighting, to providing security (yes, we managed to keep Tabzilla the Tabbycat off the set for this one). It's a lot like community theatre that way. Just another quality - but low-budget - production of Skittering Vole Press. :-)

The soundtrack: a live version of Men Without Hats, performing the Safety Dance.
