God defend New Zealand

This afternoon 3 of us traveled down to Dunedin where we will be on a training course until Friday. I went up to the Dunedin Northern Cemetery to get some late evening images. This is the oldest Cemetery in Dunedin with just over 17000 peopel laid to rest here. Some very famous New Zealanders are laid to rest here Thomas Braken the Poet who Penned our Natioal Athem God Defend New Zealand. This Museleium belongs to the Larnach Family. Larnach was a land owner and Politician who commited suicide in Parliment Buildings and later a Son committed suicide in the Drawing Room of the Family Castle around on the Otago Peninsula. The Museleium was based on the design of Dunedins First Church, building and design was undertsken when Larnachs first wife died. This Cemetery is a beautiful old place full of history, lovely hilly tree lined grounds and peaceful
