Perambulations

Olivia and I both went to bed late last night/early this morning. The difference is that I slept and she was awake crying and feeding every 2 hours. The joy of being a granny!

So all this meant that when I came back from my swim, after 9.30, she'd had a bath and her exhausted mother was trying to get her to sleep. Supergranny to the rescue! WH went to bed and slept for 3 hours and Olivia and I went for a walk round and round and round the pool. This is her looking cheery before we set out, didn't last. I had a wee seat watching a toddler and her mum and dad and in the baby pool and she went off to sleep. The ayah was there too. (Most folk have young Malay girls to look after the kids, some live in, some live out.) However, less than supergranny's cachandedess with the pram meant Olivia woke up as I was trying to manoeuvre the pram through the entrance doors to the block - glass, heavy on key lock and one is 'push' and the other 'pull' - nae easy.

Back up for a change and a feed and then it was back to the pool, so as not to wake her mum. I had a chat with C and A and was on my next circuit when it started to rain. It didn't last but that time we were back on the 8th floor and I'd perfected the backward entry.

I sat on the balcony in extreme humidity and she slept. Hurray! I'm making so many mistakes with these cats but I'm almost past caring. It will be like a testament to a failed relationship once it's finished.

Once WH was up we had a walk over to Chamomile to pick up cream puffs and then back home. I had another swim, there was another huge deluge at 4 with accompanying thunder and lightning, I sewed a cat, WH worked, Olivia slept.

I made the supper and then more of the same.

We have both just had a Benedictine, or DOM. Why? Because the custom here is to bring new parents a bottle of DOM. Apparently it helps with the feeding. They have 5 bottles on the kitchen worktop!

And that was Friday folks.
