Lunch with Artist Annie

It's been more than six months since Artist Annie and I first met for lunch -- a very long time, considering that we live in the same small city!

You can learn how our friendship first began several years ago, thanks to Phil, and see me with my new camera on Ann's journal today. I still remember that first meeting with Ann and her husband, Arvin, who welcomed us into their home so that Phil could check out Ann’s Panasonic DMC-G1, as he was thinking of buying one. He told Ann about Blipfoto, and she joined — and several years later, I joined, and now cannot imagine life without this community.

Our conversation today ranged widely in both time — past, present, future — and topics (too many to list). We are both the eldest of three children in our families, but grew up in very different parts of the country, and chose very different careers. Our friendship has grown over the past couple of years, and today we had time to get to know each another on an even deeper level.

There is a lovely balance of give and take in a conversation like the one we had today, and also in the friendship that Ann and I share. We are here for each other.
