Intricate mystery

I'll be surprised if many blippers are familiar with this wonderful book of instruction - or even if they can guess what it's instructing! These pages are pages 3 & 4 of "Nouvelle Gaillarde (sic) par M. Pecour" (or it could be "Lecour" as it's in old and very curly copperplate) - in other words, the detailed instructions for dancing a galliard to the tune set out above the diagrams.

Each stroke of the pen in the intricate figures shows movement - movement of feet, of the body, of arms. The yellow highlighter shows the part being learned by the person using the instructions - in this case, the good friend I've been visiting and for whom my respect increases every time we meet!

Wonderful, don'tcha think?
