The new meets the old. The gaucho is eternal (albeit dressed in C21 garb), but the chain saw and steel wire strapped around his waist belie his traditional appearance. He was repairing fences high up in the Aluminé valley, near Pilo Lil (prehistoric meeting centre with neolithic paintings). Wild country; we saw several condors here.
